BNI Members Raise $10,000 Bowling for Kids Sake

Throughout February and March, BNI chapters across the Golden Horseshoe Region have been participating in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Peel annual Bowl for Kids Sake fundraising event. This year the theme was Pirates of the High Seas with prizes awarded for best costume and best team spirit.

On Saturday, February 21,2009 (during a snow storm) the BNI Connection Collection chapter was at Classic Bowl in Mississauga and bowled to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters Peel. The team of five (from left to right): Edwin Frondozo, Adolfo Proietti, Melanie Miles, Bob Ramsden and Pete Townshend raised more than $1,000.00.

And, they had a great time. Melanie, competing against about 200 participants, won the prize for best pirate costume. The BNI Connection Collection team, in competition with 23 other teams, won the prize for having the most team spirit with all members wearing a pirate costume. They were the first team to check in and the last to leave.

BNI Ambassador and Leading Edge chapter member, Fred Leblanc, is responsible for initiating a challenge between all the chapters of BNI Golden Horseshoe.

There were 5 chapters that accepted the challenge. The total amount of money raised by this challenge was over $10,000.00, said Fred.

Fred said, I introduced the team to executives from BBBS and there will be opportunities for business. This is networking at its finest. Thank you BNI Connection Collection.

The participating BNI chapters included:

BNI Leading Edge, Mississauga; BNI B2B Strategic Partners, Mississauga; BNI Connection Collection, Mississauga; BNI Integrity Connection, Burlington; and, BNI Main Exchange, Brampton.

Thank you again, BNI members, for showcasing Givers Gain.
